| Advice: |
The course opened April 1, 1999. When played
in 1999, the fairways still needed maturing, but the greens were
in very good shape and very firm ala Scotland. This course has
been referred to as "a ball-eating machine." Bring lots.
Play this course without going to Scotland. Good rapid growth
fairways. |
The Chisholm Trail Golf Course is a special course which
offers a great challenge for all types of golfers. Just because of
low fees, does not mean it's an ill-kept course. This course is not
an average run of the mill golf course. The course was recognized
and written up in Golf Course News, Golf World and Golf
Digest. It received Honorable Mention as the Environmental Course
of the Year. Factors of play include narrow fairways and small, undulating
greens that are difficult to hit. Look out for the plum thickets on
the second and sixteenth fairways and be prepared for the effects
of a contentious wind.
The Sand Hills are a range of hills from southern Nebraska
through Kansas to northern Oklahoma, on a line approximately through
Manhattan and El Dorado, Kansas. These hills contain some of the best
prairie grasses still existing in the United States. These grasses
are of the shorter types which reach a height of two feet or so.

PARK, BUT IT FACED OPPOSITION AND AT THE TIME THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN
BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, THE BILL HAD NOT BEEN REPORTED
