Lava Creek is a small, short layout 9-hole golf course located in the foothills found at the southernmost end of the Cascade Range in Paradise, Calfornia. While the greens are kept, there is not a real distinct divide between fairway and field. The course is set in with the terrain with a pond coming into play on one hole and a small, natural creek coming into play on two holes. Tall, naturally growing pine trees and other very mature trees combined with bordering farmlands, undeveloped forest and scrub areas and big thickets make for narrow tee shots and interesting approaches on many holes. On most weekdays, the office/clubhouse is closed and walkers can play using the honor system and a small mail slot (envelopes provided). Green fees are $10.00 to walk on weekdays and $12.00 on weekends. A few carts are available but require golfers to call a number posted on the door of the office to request a cart. The regulars are mellow, unassuming and never in a hurry. - M.C. (11/27/07) See More Photos of Lava Creek Golf Course If you have more information about this course we'd love to hear from you.
